What do we offer (prospective) renters?

• Find product and vendors by party or event

  On many websites, information about renting is organized by type of rental product. But, you may want to rent multiple types of products for your particular party or event (e.g., a birthday party). On You Rent It, you can find many products for rent for your parties and events. Select a type of party or event, and you will find relevant rental products or services for rent (e.g., party rooms, party rental equipment): One-stop shopping for your rental needs. If you already know which product (broadly defined to include goods, services or information) you want to rent, you can search by product. Select a product type from our various categories, and you will find relevant rental vendors.

• Local search, initially for Chicago and New York City metro areas

  Search rental vendors that serve the area where your party or event will be. Any rental vendor servicing the area may or may not be located there: A banquet hall serves the area where it is located. A truck rental firm may operate locally or nation-wide. A vendor of party rental items may serve the whole country out of one location. For now, we are focusing on rental vendors that are located in the Chicago and New York City metropolitan areas.

• Post a rental request

  If you do not find what you are looking for, post a request. Other renters may leave a suggestion!

• Read users forums and vendor reviews

  Under Events pages, Products pages, and Vendor search result pages you can post questions, answers and ideas about anything you cannot find on our website. Other contributions, i.e., those that don't fit anywhere else, can be found in our general Forum. On each vendor's listing page, you can post your review about that vendor (location).

• Browse detailed vendor listing pages

  For each location of each rental vendor with a listing page, find a brief description, logo, photo and contact information, including links to the rental vendor's e-mail and website.

What do we offer rental vendors?

• Advertise where renters search

  Rental vendors, you can present yourself here on You Rent It, where (prospective) renters come to search. Whether you are an organization or an individual, you will be able to register and list just about anything for rent. Products to rent can range from things (e.g., party rental equipment) to services (e.g., performers or catering) to spaces and places (e.g., party rooms or banquet halls) to digital information (e.g., video rental).

• Prospective renters who are actively looking to rent

  Even though we started only in 2005, this site already draws many tens of thousands of prospects per month who are actively looking to rent for their party or event. Traffic has been growing steadily.

• List among highly-reputable vendors

  Get a listing page on YouRentIt.com to present yourself to prospective renters. Your listing will be among highly reputable, and often well-known, rental vendors. Among our listings are vendors who are known nationally, won prestigious industry awards, won critical acclaim, were featured on television, or have international events and famous celebrities as their clients. You'll be in good company!

• Multiple levels of listings

  We offer multiple levels of listings, ranging from free listings to full listing page advertisements. For details, please click on the Vendor SignUp (via the menu on the left-hand side of the screen).

What else do we offer?

• No extra charge for rich web presence

  On our listing page, you can include at your discretion, your organization's slogan (e.g., WalMart's slogan is "we sell for less"), profile, logo, photo, location description, phone number, fax number, mobile phone number, e-mail address, URL/web address, and a short note (e.g., "Ask for Joe"). Some web sites charge you extra to include such information, but on You Rent It.com, you can include it all at no extra charge!

• Free advertising of (used) rental products for sale

  Many rental vendors offer used, end-of-economic-life, rental products (e.g., cars or trucks) for sale to the public. Other rental vendors have a side-business selling (new) products. Either way, with a paid listing, you can advertise (used) products for sale on You Rent It. Any rental products for sale can be found via the "For Sale" link on the left-hand side of the screen.

Chicago, Illinois area: You Rent It.com helps you find vendors for products to rent for your party or event in the Chicago metro area, aka Chicagoland, which lies mostly in Illinois. We feature vendors for rentals covering the City of Chicago, e.g., downtown Chicago, the Loop, the West Loop, the South Loop, Lincoln Park, Edgewater, and Rogers Park.
